Installing ULM
From Guild of Writers Wiki
Currently the easiest way to get access to recent fan created ages is by using ULM or UruLibraryManager. ULM is an application that downloads fan made ages, and adds them to your installation of Uru - Path of the Shell. You can get ULM from it's home page, ulm.hbyte.net, or the direct download.
Installation
download the installer and run it. It will ask where your uru installation is. This is usually C:/program files/ubisoft/cyan worlds/Uru - Ages beyond Myst, if it is not, or you have multiple installations, be sure to select the correct location.
Using ULM to download and install fan ages
When you start ULM, it will take a moment to download the most recent age list. Once it is done, you will see two frames. The one on the left is the list of ages that you can install. The one on the right represents a book on your relto shelf.
When you first start ULM, all the ages on the left will have a Blue book icon with a key on it. This means that you have not downloaded this age. To download an age, select it, and click the "Download Newest" button. This will download all the age files and put them in your uru directory.
Ages that you have downloaded will be shown with a green open book icon. To put a link to that age on you relto, drag it from the frame on the left into the book frame on the right. This will add a linking page to that book. Each book can have multiple linking pages, each linking to a different age.
To remove a page from a book, select the icon in the right frame, and press the red X button in the middle.
In the image above, you can see that I have downloaded 6 ages, and that I have two linking pages in the first book on the bottom shelf of my Relto.
Using ULM to link to your own ages
First be sure that all the dat, sfx, sdl, and python files are in their appropriate directories in your PotS install. Then start ULM.
ULM will automatically detect any additional ages in your dat directory and will add them to the "Personal Ages" tab of the left frame. They will show up as blue open book icons. You can add and remove links to them the same way you did for downloaded ages.
These are the file types that should go in each folder in the uru directory:
/dat
.age
.prp
.sum
.fni
/Python
.pak
/SDL
.sdl
/sfx
.ogg
/sfx/streamingCache
.wav
